A bit of honeymoon bliss rendered explicitly in pen & watercolor. Anonymous artist, most likely from 1920s or 1930s France, nice little piece.
Anonymously painted erotic watercolor inspired by one of Paul Avril’s illustrations for De Figuris Veneris (an anthology of Greek & Roman erotic writings published by German scholar Friedrich Karl Forberg in 1906). This version was most likely painted a few decades later – although the pose and elements are the same, it has great clean lines and coloring that make me prefer it to the original.
Very nice stuff, and a reminder that it was the Romans who came up with the term cunnilingus…
Drypoint print by French illustrator & engraver Paul-Emile Becate, circa mid-1930s. This is one from a series of erotic prints illustrating (I believe) Paul Verlaines compilation of poetry, Les Amies. Beautiful stuff – I love the muted colors & intricate linework, and you’ll not find many more elegant depictions of explicit sex.
