Aside from being exceedingly voluptuous and having a truly remarkable rapport with the camera, June was also one of the first women to carve a managerial niche for herself in the pin-up photography industry. She founded Strobe Studios (along with husband stuntman/photographer Arthur Howell) in London, which was also open two hours each Thursday evening for amateur photographers to practice their art – portraits & pin-up style photography for the first hour, a cup of tea, and then classical poses for the remainder. Among the many models at these sessions were Mary Millington and Ava Cadell, before their fame in the industry. Not a bad way to spend an evening…
